The Castle of Otranto has an irregular plant and  is surrounded by a wide ditch come to the light after the recent works of restoration.

It has circular towers, of Aragonese epoch, on three angles, while the forth one is  occupied  by a lanceolate spike, of Spanish epoch,  called  Facet of Diamond. It is 16 m tall and is in the direction of the port.

It  is made  with tans of carparo stone.

The sculptures are instead made of Lecce stone.

You can go inside the  building  through a little bridge built on the wall structure, restored during the restorations, that in previous time supported a drawbridge .

On the north side  there is the portal of  the entrance: a curtain  links the two mighty towers.
